The fleet of five luxurious international superyachts, ranging from 32 metres to 48.5 metres, will set sail at 11am this morning from in front of Princes Wharf, in the second race of the 2012 NZ Millennium Cup.
The impressive superyachts, all of which were built here in Auckland and which are capable of exhilarating speeds of up to 20-22 knots, will then sail a third race in the early afternoon, approx half an hour after the end of today's first race.
In what are likely to be even more competitive races than yesterday, the fleet will head down the harbour toward North Head, before turning north along the East Coast Bays beaches and then racing back toward what are expected to be two very close finishes off Princes Wharf.
The four-race NZ Millennium Cup regatta will conclude with a final race tomorrow (Saturday).
