8 October 2008 - Unbeaten Hawkes Bay-Poverty Bay was struggling to keep that record in round four of the Toro New Zealand women's inter-provincial team tournament at the Nelson Golf Club today.

At the turn, Taranaki, still looking for its first win in section two, was ahead in three matches and square in another with only No. 1 Gemma Mathieson, who was 3 down to Sheridan Graham, in deficit.

Tasman and Manawatu-Wanganui, both wanting the win to stay in contention, were level at the turn while Waikato was on course to make it three from three when it led Otago, 4-1 through five holes.

In a crunch match in section one, Auckland was well in control against Aorangi-South Canterbury with No. 5 Emily Eng posting a 6 and 5 win and Hayley Clining 3 up after 14. Auckland's top pair, Cecilia Cho and Tania Tare, was both 2 up.

North Harbour, after its dramatic win against Bay of Plenty in the morning, was making no race of its match against Canterbury leading in four matches at the turn with the No. 4s, Hayley Beaumont (Canterbury) and Faye-Amy Nickson all square.

Bay of Plenty was not having it all its own way against Wellington in the final match. They were level through five holes, but No. 4 Krystle Kearns won three of four holes against Pesi Sina to have Waikato ahead, 3-2.
