Williams, Stanley To Front Judiciary

Wellington, Aug 10 NZPA - Auckland players Paul Williams and Winston Stanley have been cited for separate incidents in the Air NZ Cup match against Canterbury last Saturday.

They were cited by citing commissioner Mike O'Leary for allegedly charging into an opponent without the ball -- Stanley on Ryan Crotty in the 46th minute of the match, and Williams for a charge on Dan Carter in the 76th minute.

The citings were today reviewed by citing complaints review officer Roger Drummond, who decided both incidents should proceed to hearings.

Williams and Stanley will appear at separate hearings before a New Zealand Rugby Union judicial officer in Wellington on Wednesday.

Auckland lost the match 16-22 at home on Eden Park, with recalled All Blacks first five-eighth Carter contributing all of Canterbury's points.
