Enspiral Dev Academy are very excited to announce new web development scholarships for Pacific peoples, in partnership with MBIE.

These scholarships are a huge opportunity to enable Pasifika to make waves into web development. They reflect Dev Academy’s commitment to increasing diversity in the tech sector, benefiting all of Aotearoa.

Dev Academy is offering two scholarships valued at $10,000 each, reducing the cost of their 9 week web development bootcamp to $500.

Technology is the industry of the future - to be building, exploring and navigating future careers an understanding of technology is crucial. Dev Academy’s web development programme lets students start from a basic understanding, and grow to the point where they can design and construct web technologies that are creative, complex, beautiful and sophisticated. These skills enable web developers to develop their own digital visions, and those of their clients and communities.

Ben Tairea, a recent Dev Academy graduate from the Cook Islands, notes, "Technology is changing the world we live in and as Pasifika it’s important that we have an input as to what that world values and looks like. Dev Academy is a great way to start that journey and learn the skills to build technology for the future."

Ben worked with Augmented Reality while he was learning web development at Dev Academy, and recently won the New Zealand Act in Space hackathon which is taking him to France for the world finals.

CEO Rohan Wakefield notes, "Some of our most impressive graduates have been of Pacific Island heritage. If you’re interested in problem solving, exploring new areas and constantly learning, you will be right for this scholarship."

Dev Academy are looking for Pacific people with a passion for technology, specifically for working in web development, and who have the tenacity and drive to thrive in our programme.

If this sounds like you, head over to, submit an application and Dev Academy will talk you through the next steps. Welcome aboard!
