Award Winning Ultraplus Range Storms Digital TV Market

UltraPlus has taken the New Zealand free to air Digital TV market by storm. The release of the latest models, the UltraPlus F-9000HD and 980HD PVRs, which feature the latest recording and network options, adds to the impressive range available from the award winning online retailer Freeviewshop.

The focus on quality is evident with all receivers in the UltraPlus range offering high spec processors and exceptional user interfaces. The latest models to be released, are the Linux based F-9000HD and the 980HD which feature true High Definition, DVBS/S2 tuners and the latest high speed ST7109 processor. The result is quality on an unsurpassable level. The picture detail is amazing, images are razor sharp with super fast motion handling. Menus are displayed in full HD with ultra modern smooth scrolling graphics.

The UltraPlus F-9000HD features twin satellite tuners that allow you to record up to two channels while watching another and even picture in picture on a further channel. The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is received from the satellite broadcast itself unlike other PVRs on the market which require a broadband connection. The EPG is buffered while you watch TV and loads instantly at the touch of a button. Multiple EPG views allow easy booking of programs to be recorded. Ads can even be skipped in their entirety using the commercial skip function.

With 2 USB ports there are also plenty of options that make it easy to access recorded files. Files can be transferred to a PC direct via Ethernet or via a USB pen drive, via a USB HDD, via a network attached HD and even via a WIFI adaptor. Plug-ins can also be installed that allow easy access to PVR functions via a web browser and many other plug-ins can be installed to do clever things such as monitor the hard drive temperature!

But one of the really exciting features of the UltraPlus F-9000HD and 980HD is their network capabilities. By networking any number of these units you can record to a shared network attached drive, or even share the internal drive of the F-9000 or a USB HDD attached to the F-9000 or 980. This is a great option if you want to access the same files from multiple receivers. You can say start playing back a movie in one room and then can carry on watching it in another room from a different receiver.

It is no surprise that the equivalent UltraPlus F-9000HD in Germany has received top ratings from many satellite reviews and has received various awards in technical innovation. Indeed the UltraPlus equivalent models have won over 15 awards in various markets including the Best Product Award at the Korea IT Show.
