You've sent your friends funny videos.  You've forwarded links to cool YouTube videos.  Well, now take your "sharing" to a whole new level with these 5 disgusting websites.  Odds are all your friends will resist clicking, but in the end curiosity will get them - though they might well regret that decision.

Let's start simple with fake disgusting. At ThrowUp.com you get to choose what you want your vomit to be made of – things like lettuce and broccoli with grape soda – and then send the animation of a person launching the wonderfully colored vomit.  Throwup.com advertises that it is part of the Stupidness.com network - so your expectations of classy humor should be pretty low.  You can email your friends this vomit - but it's just simple fake drawings - nothing near as graphic as you will see in our next disgusting idea.   I should note that they have perhaps one of the worst example of cross sell messages, as you are emailing vomit you get the option to sign up for "a terrific way to add more purpose and meaning into your day with the FREE Bible Verses Newsletter."

The next on the list of the top disgusting websites is a website brought to you by a trio of US government agencies: the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. National Library.  After viewing how these agencies spend their money, you'll understand why the US has trouble balancing the budget  This site is Medline Plus, and there’s an area dedicated to offering the public surgery videos for just about every surgery imaginable.  Thankfully I did not show my daughter pictures of a Tonsillectomy before her recent surgery.

If you thought that the insides of live human bodies were gross, it does not get any better when the bodies are deceased.  This next website is titled The Internet Pathology Library for Medical Education, and is based on a joint effort of the Mercer University School of Medicine and The University of Utah.  This entire library constists of snapshots taken by pathology students of real human organs taken in various states of disease.

Moving away from the human body, you can visit a website called InsectImages.  If you are like most people, you probably don’t like little crawly things to get started with. InsectImages is a site of Entomology photos – meaning, folks who love playing with disgusting insects - they have no fear of insects.  So you will find an image for almost every creepy critter imaginable. After going through two or three of these pages you’ll be scratching behind your neck.  I'm amazed that the folks who make bug repellent don't link to this site from their own product sites and seek to promote this site.  Put some of these photos on Flickr and videos on YouTube and bug repellent sales will skyrocket!

Okay, you've made it this far.  Stop now.  I never write about sites I have not visited or software I have not personally used.  However,  number 5 on today's list is an exception.  I am basing my writing on what I have read about this site - not what I have experienced.  Bear Grylls, who is the host of Man vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel, has established for himself a place in the annals of television history as guy who’s absolutely willing to eat anything. He’s dined on raw animal meat, maggots and in one case he ate a larvae that he described as an “explosion of pus” in his mouth.  If you make it to this site and especially if you make it through this site - then you are a braver person than this author!
