Wellington, June 20 NZPA - Mike Bullot is the best-placed of a small group of New Zealand sailors competing at the Kiel regatta for Olympic classes which began today (NZt).
Fresh from a fifth placing at the recent European Laser championships,
Racing is underway for the Olympic classes at Kiel Week Regatta in Germany. A small New Zealand contingent is competing including one women's match-racing crew helmed by Samantha Osborne, plus Mike Bullot in the Laser class and Matt Coutts in the Finn event.
NZL Sailing Team Laser sailor Mike Bullot has finished fifth at the 2010 Laser Euroepean Championships.
The regatta, which has just concluded in Tallinn, Estonia, attracted a world class fleet of 148 Olympic class Laser sailors.
The European Championships for two Olympic classes are currently being sailed, in Europe obviously.
In the Star class Hamish Pepper and Craig Monk got off to a less than stellar start, recording an OCS in their second race.

Sara Winther has finished fifth, and Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie have finished sixth at 2010 French Olympic Sailing Week which wrapped up overnight after six days of competition in Hyeres, France.
