ASB has launched a free home buyer's iPhone app which combines property data and augmented reality technology to help house-hunters find the perfect home.

General Manager Lending, Mike Davy: "The ASB Property Guide iPhone app is like a pocket-sized personal real estate agent, property analyst and home lending expert all in one.

"It's the only app of its kind in the New Zealand market to offer augmented reality technology, which means useful property data is mapped onto a real-world view using the iPhone camera," Mr Davy says. "A home buyer simply needs to hold up their phone to the house they are interested in, and the app will offer a view of the property information available.

"The ASB Property Guide iPhone app is ideal for those times when you drive past a house for sale, or through a suburb you want to live in, but the right information is not available at your fingertips. Our new app helps people make the right choices based on the most current information including house prices, photographs, detailed property information, current listings and a home loan repayment calculator. It makes the difficult and time consuming task of hunting for a dream home, or a property investment, much easier."

The ASB Property Guide iPhone app uses data from qv.co.nz. It is available for ASB customers and non customers free from the Apple store. An Android version of the app is currently in development.
