Soluto, the anti-frustration software, asks "Can you imagine having to restart your car engine several times a trip?" But they not only wonder why people put up with PC frustrations, they have new products to help end PC frustrations.

You might think that with one billion PCs across the globe, you would expect the PC experience to be top notch or at least as reliable as the other equipment a modern person depends upon.  However, that is far from reality and people continue to search for reliable technical support and ways to simplify computers.  This is where Soluto comes in with software that monitors your PC for things that are likely to annoy users — printing problems, crashy apps, memory hogs and those frustrating applications that randomly cause your mouse to become useless every once and awhile.

While Soluto has only just come out of beta with one of its two products - it is the recent winner at Techcrunch Disrupt where 20 startups battled for the prize.  While Techcrunch was held in NY, Soluto was just one of several international entries - Soluto (Israel); Ujam(Germany); KeenKong(Canada) - amongst the 20 worthwhile competitors.  The judges felt that "Quite simply: if Soluto can convince the millions of frustrated PC users to use their software, they could transform the industry. Or, disrupt it."

The key to Soluto is their patent-pending low level driver technology which detects when you’re frustrated by your PC and tells you which application is causing it. Right now their beta product focuses only on issues created at PC boot-up time. Soluto allows PC users to understand what happens when their PC slowly boots up and discover which applications are slowing them down.   Soluto suggests fixes, including ‘no brainers’ like omitting certain applications from your bootup.

While this first product is interesting, it appeals to the proactive user - those that want to explore all the software they are loading and correct issues. However, the company’s upcoming PCGenome project could actually help resolve issues in real time.  Soluto will take user-submitted data from its application and use it to figure out which software works best on each computer. It will identify which hardware has had issues with which software. Harnessing the power of a worldwide user based, they can also help you pick out software that runs well on the specific model of PC you’re using, based on other users.

As Techcrunch has said, Soluto is a service worth keeping an eye on - it could reduce frustration for millions of PC users.
