Flight Centre Travel Group’s Independent Division is launching their first ever global conference, bringing together independent travel agents and agencies in New Zealand, and connecting them with counterparts across Australia, the USA, Canada and South Africa.
Just this week, they revealed the conference will be held in Santiago, Chile from May 1-4, 2024. Being the only truly global independent network, the FCTG Independent team are beginning to connect their network of advisors this November at their inaugural Independent Icons trip – a reward for their top agencies and agents from each country. This year, they’re chartering a Uniworld ship to sail from Budapest to Vienna. For the first global conference, FCTG Independent expects approximately 500 travel advisors, staff and sponsors to gather for this exciting event. The program will include individual country days, a supplier expo, plus plenary sessions and events for the entire congregation. Watch the reveal video here.
Jason Buckley, General Manager, FCTG Independent NZ said, “To be able to provide our independent agents and agencies the opportunity to network with like-minded travel entrepreneurs and supply partners from across the globe is exciting. We can’t wait to see our Kiwi contingent join the first Global Independent Conference in 2024, bring on Santiago!”
Carla Jordan operates Carla Jordan & Brokers, a member of Travel Managers which is part of the independent pillar. She said with the independent business an ever-growing part of FCTG, it makes sense to get together in one place to exchange ideas.
“At Carla Jordan & Brokers we are all originally from South America, so we are thrilled to be going to Santiago for the conference. Santiago is such a vibrant and fun city and a great getaway to other parts of South America. So, while there you might want to spread your wings a bit further and explore Brazil, Argentina, Peru and so on”.
Tori Keating and Niki Davies from xtravel adds, “what a fantastic opportunity for our global family to converge in order to collaborate and ideate together. Each business under FCTG Independent has a unique offering and ethos, and the prospect of meeting others in the whanau from all over the world is stimulating.”
