Global educational publisher, Twinkl ’empowers NZ educators by offering new AI-powered tools’

As the school year is coming to a close and as part of an ongoing effort to assist time-pressed educators with report writing, Twinkl, the global leading educational resource publisher is empowering teachers during the transition to the AI era by offering a month of free unlimited access to all 1,026,150 of its resources and AI tools, including its recently AI-enhanced Report Writer, in November 2023.

Since its launch almost a year ago, ChatGPT has taken most industries by storm, including education, with the focus of industry leaders and organisations being on promoting the responsible and ethical use of these tools and finding the best way of supporting educators in integrating them into their teaching. As Auckland language teacher Katy O’Grady told Stuff.co.nz, it should be the duty of educators to firstly educate ourselves and then teach their students how to be literate in this new space. As a result, the focus needs to be on promoting the responsible and ethical use of these tools for educators while assisting learners to develop critical thinking and other important skills that machines can’t teach.

Apart from revolutionising the teaching and learning experience, the use of AI tools and platforms can help alleviate pressures for teachers by allowing them to streamline tasks, providing them with space to refocus on inspiring and educating students.  In aiding educators with tasks like report writing, Twinkl has recently enhanced its innovative Report Writing Tool with the power of AI. This groundbreaking tool is Curriculum-aligned, allowing teachers to offer consistent and helpful feedback that accurately reflects learners’ progress, in a supportive and encouraging style. Besides providing educators with innovative edTech tools,  Chief Customer Officer at Twinkl and former teacher, Leon Smith, highlights that AI can be seen as an additional tool that has the potential to not only help educators save time, but also assist them in diversifying their teaching materials and enhance the learning experience for their students.

The publisher’s continuous support to educators in New Zealand, towards the end of the school year, extends to offering their entire, extensive library of resources for free in November to all those creating a free account. This gives teachers the opportunity to get unlimited access to any AI tool, that is part of Twinkl’s Ultimate subscription, for 30 days, by claiming the free trial and choosing to auto renew at either Twinkl’s standard Ultimate monthly or annual price.  No payment will be taken until the first free month has expired and after 30 days, and the subscription will increase to the normal price of $15.90/month with the option to cancel at any time.

Twinkl takes pride in not using AI to generate teaching resources, instead entrusting this task to real, experienced human teachers.
