24 Hour Surgery to return to 24 hour opening

24 Hour Surgery is returning to 24 hour opening hours, 7 days a week from Sunday 28 January 2024.

September 2023 saw 24 Hour Surgery close overnight between 10pm and 8am. This was due to a shortage of nursing staff. The reduction in hours was always a temporary solution and the start of December saw 24 Hour Surgery able to open overnight on Sundays and Mondays.

“We have been successful in recruiting 14 FTE of nursing staff and are now able to have a full complement of staff round the clock,” Pegasus Health General Manager of Patient and Provider Services, Lisa Brennan, said.

Patient safety is core to the operation of 24 Hour Surgery. From time to time, we may need to temporarily redirect some non-urgent patients if presentation numbers are very high.

Patients are encouraged to visit the 24 Hour Surgery Facebook for the most up-to-date information before they attend.
