This week Bupa opened its latest care home, Bupa Willowbank in Napier. The modern $15 million purpose-built facility will provide 56 much needed care beds for the Hawkes Bay region.
With 30 beds already allocated the new care home is off to a great start says Tracey Morrison, General Manager of Willowbank Retirement Village and Care Home.
“Welcoming our first residents into their new home is a significant milestone. It’s been a huge undertaking to build Willowbank. So much thought, clinical knowledge and training has gone into it and it’s great to see it all paying off with the residents’ positive reactions and seeing them settling in well,” she says.
Tracey and her team are now focused on getting to know their new residents and creating a warm and engaging environment.
She says, “Everyone has different needs, and we will be working with our residents to deliver the right amount of care for them, whether that is at rest home, hospital or dementia level.
“Residents can also look forward to a range of activities and outings specifically designed to cater for their interests and abilities. Our team can’t wait to get started.” say Tracey.
The care home sits alongside the existing retirement village located on Ulyatt Road, which features 99 villas, a community centre and 16 serviced apartments.
“We have an active and close-knit village community at Willowbank, so it’s great that we can extend that sense of belonging to our new residents and provide more care options for the region,” says Tracey.
