Kiwi Poster Competition winners hit the streets – and nature is a winner too.
The winners from New Zealand’s best-loved poster competition are being pasted into Phantom Billstickers’ poster frames around the country this week.
From the primary school to adult categories, there were almost 200 eligible entrants in The Great Kiwi Poster Competition. Artists were challenged to create a street poster on the theme Protect Our Future – Tiaki a Mātāhauariki.
Nature played a starring role with images of penguins, plants, waterways, and other evocative wildlife.
The winning designs have been printed, free of charge, by competition sponsor Phantom Billstickers, and are now being placed in its nationwide street poster network.
Zero carbon and zero waste.
With such a strong environmental message, it’s important that the posters do not end up in landfill. With this in mind, Phantom CEO Robin McDonnell has confirmed the eco-friendliness of the medium.
“We’re on a sustainable journey here at Phantom. Like all our posters, these ones will be printed on paper from sustainable sources and fully recycled after use. There’s zero plastic, and that means no nasty microplastics filtering into the environment,” Robin said.
“The medium is the message here: zero carbon and zero waste for a sustainable future.”
Congratulations to all finalists and winners in The Great Kiwi Poster Competition, with special credit to the category winners: Leoni Joubert, Cindy Huang, Danielle Wu and Maria Sagidullina.
